For many years, the general practitioners have organized an on-call system so that you can always rely on the presence of a competent doctor even when your own doctor is taking well-deserved time off. This on-call system should be reserved as a priority for patients who require care and who cannot wait until their own general practitioner is back at work. In order to ensure continuity of care and in a spirit of cooperation between colleagues, the latter will be informed quickly of the care that is given.
